Welcome

This tool allows you to select, access and display groundwater monitoring data in the Surat CMA and results of OGIA’s evaluation of individual monitoring points.

Search Options

Monitoring point can be searched in three different ways by:

  • Address (top middle) or

  • Bore registered number

  • Zooming in and out on the map and clicking a single or multiple monitoring points by drawing a polygon around them

Data can also be downloaded by clicking on the download button in the chart.

More Information

Data Source

This tool uses OGIA’s integrated groundwater dataset, which combines data from UWIR-mandated monitoring networks, non-UWIR programs operated by resource companies, and the Queensland groundwater database. Records are flagged through QA/QC to remove erroneous or unrepresentative data, and filtered to include sites with at least 10 measurements spanning more than 12 months.

Bore Impact Data

To help understand the potential drivers behind groundwater level changes, monitoring bores are assigned response categories based on interpreted influences on groundwater levels. Categories are descriptive and a bore may fall into multiple categories:

  • Likely CSG impacted – groundwater level response likely attributable to local coal seam gas water extraction.
  • Possible CSG impacted – groundwater level behaviour may reflect the influence of CSG extraction, subject to further verification as new data becomes available.
  • Likely conventional impacted – groundwater level response likely attributable to extraction associated with conventional petroleum and gas operations.
  • Possible mine impacted – groundwater level behaviour may indicate possible influence from mine dewatering or related activities, subject to further verification as new data becomes available.
